“I think I have always been an artist.”
Allison Robin Smith is a professional artist and illustrator, based out of her converted barn studio in Saint Lazare, Qc.
A graduate from Illustration and Design at Dawson College, she then went on to a career in Graphic Design, while freelancing in Illustration for 12 years. During this time Allison was commissioned by the CBC to illustrate a First Nations legend- The Legend of Mink and Marten for the weekly show 'Maamuitaau'. In 2017 her focus was devoted to the interactive art project Canada E2W (East to West), which involved creating a landscape painting from each province and territory across Canada . The collection caught a lot of media attention and went on to be exhibited at 2 Barn Owls in Hudson that fall. Allison currently sits on the committee for the Hudson Studio Tour and is quite active in the local arts scene. This year she has been selected as a resident artist at 2 Barn Owls, giving her a permanent place to exhibit her work. Allison, has recently founded 'Studio Hillside', an artist workshop and cooperative space located in Saint Lazare.
